SEPTEMBER 30, 2010 : FINAL DATE
September 30, 2010 is the final registration date to have a go at the chance of playing in concert with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal. With cash prizes and scholarships worth $100,000, including a professional recording in the studios of Radio-Canada, accommodations and tuitions fees to Canada’s leading summer academies, as well as recital opportunities, this competition is an imperative musical event and an amazing stepping stone towards national and international recognition.

NEW TO THE COMPETITION
In order to better support the semifinalists, the OSM Standard Life Competition is providing official accompanists to all the semifinalists. Each assigned pianist will offer two hours of rehearsal to each semifinalist as well as their services for the performances in front of the jury. Please note that any semifinalist wishing to come with his or her own personal accompanist may do so at his or her own expense.

The Chicago Symphony Orchestra invites young conductors to apply for a two-year conducting apprenticeship to study with CSO Music Director Riccardo Muti and key guest conductors.
Riccardo Muti is passionate about the need to identify and nurture young conductors. Both he and his distinguished predecessor, Sir Georg Solti (CSO music director 1969-91), followed the same traditional path to their conducting careers through working in the opera house.
Maestro Muti regards the ability to coach and rehearse singers from the keyboard as essential and applications from conductors following this route of artistic development will be especially welcomed.
Age limit 35. Deadline for applications October 1, 2010.
