If
there's justice in the opera world, we'll be hearing more from soprano
Gianna Corbisiero, who poured riveting, Callas-like intensity into
"L'altra Notte" of Arrigo Boito. In the "Brindisi"
for Verdi's "La Traviata", she hinted she would make a
fascinatingly complex Violetta
.
Don Rosenberg, Cleveland Plain Dealer,
Oct. 2006
Carmen- Carmen- Orchestre Symphonique de la Francophonie:
Gianna Corbisiero showed us with
a flamboyant personality allied with a balanced, clear and historically
in tuned voice what Carmen should be
.
Christophe Huss, Le Devoir, 01/08/2005
Corbisiero sizzled as Carmen. She looked,
acted, and sang Carmen-in a way that made this tragic but exciting
role very real. Her lower register was particularly rich and the
expression was beautiful.
Jim Lowe, The Times Argus, 05/08/2005
La Boheme- Musetta- Opera de Montreal:
A great asset to the performance was Gianna Corbisiero as
the irrepressible Musetta. Her soaringly radiant voice and lively
stage bearing in acts II and III were as striking as Her display
of compassion in the fourth.
Ilse Zadrozny, The Gazette, 02/02/2004
La Boheme- Mimi-Orchestre Symphonique de Longueil:
everything is done with such enthusiasm ; especially
when there is a Gianna Corbisiero who gives lessons of incredible
legato, unforgettable moments of inhabited space and time
Francois Tousignant, Le Devoir,
01/05/2004
Festival International du Domaine Forget:
We must underline the intesnsity
of Gianna Corbisiero: this woman has the sense of drama in her blood.
Her Laltra notte, in Mefistofele of Boito
took
our breath away. It reminded me of the final scene in LaTraviata,
where she was also inhabited. No need to speak of Act I in La Boheme,
in the skin of Mimi
equally touching et convincing.
Guy Marceau, La Presse de Montreal,
04/08/2003
Opera Gala-Opera de Montreal:
Thank heaven for Gianna Corbisieros
charming treatment of the Act I aria from Puccinis La Rondine.
Arthur Kaptainis, The Montreal Gazette, 09/12/2002
La Traviata, Violetta Valery -LOpera
de Montreal:
her solo scene was vibrant and she deepened her colour
perfectly for the more realistic exchanges in Act II.
Arthur Kaptainis, The Montreal Gazette, 11/02/2002
Opera Gala-Opera de Montreal:
I must mention the vocal quality of the very beautiful
Gianna Corbisiero
Claude Gingras, La Presse de Montreal,

La Traviata-Debut Series:
Violetta Valery
Gianna revealed a soprano of size, range, and steady color.
She also realized much of the emotion of the famous withering-away
of Act III.
Arthur Kaptainis, The Montreal Gazette, 18/09/95
In Chabriers Etoile: Princesse Laoula,
Opera Francais de New York:
Gianna Corbisiero sang Laoula
with a strong clean soprano.
Bernard Holland, The New York Times, 18/05/93
soprano Gianna Corbisiero commanded attention
William Wells, Opera Monthly, 09/93
Gianna Corbisiero sang the romantic role
easily
Martin Mayer, Opera, 09/93
In Frank Martins Le Vin Herbé,
Iseut, I Cantori di New York:
Gianna Corbisiero, the Iseut,
was steady and shining at the top of her range.
Andrew Porter, The New Yorker, 22/06/92
"I Pagliacci"

"I have
to tell you that it was an amazing show. Everyone that I spoke to
has nothing but praises for the opera. It was an amazing show and
it definitely brought our event to another level."
