SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Cynthia Steljes, beloved oboist and founding member of Quartetto Gelato, on December 29th, 2006 at 1:35pm.

Cynthia had been diagnosed on June 12th, 2006 with malignant pleural mesothelioma, a rare form of cancer associated with asbestos exposure. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in her name to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Cynthia had substituted herself since the summer engagements. Quartetto Gelato will continue touring and Cynthia's spirit will live on.
