Kerry Stratton KERRY STRATTON
Conductor and Recording Artist

"It is always a pleasure to have you perform in Welland. Many members have commented on your fine conducting and your great personality on stage. Your interesting anecdotes add to the evening's enjoyment. One couple I know drove all the way from Florida to get back in time for your performance and they said it was worth it.

Thanks again for a wonderful evening of music."

Chopin and Dvorak at the Symphony Concert in Kassel

HESSISCH NIEDERSACHSISCHE ALLGEMEINE
January 24, 2007
By Siegfried Weyh

"Antonin Dvorak's sixth is more present in the angloamerican music life than ours. To win the stately audience at the Kassel state hall was a mission for the Canadian guest conductor with Bohemian affinity, Kerry Stratton. And a successful one. The front man from Toronto was a purposeful, efficient and certain orchestra helmsman".

Matinee Performance was a Real Treat

HUNTSVILLE FORESTER
Wednesday March 22, 2006

Bravo to the Festival of the Arts for introducing a new dimension into our splendid new Algonquin theatre - a Sunday matinee - and what a performance it was.
The fortunate ones who attended were treated to an awesome two hours of delightful symphonic artistry. Kerry Stratton, in his genius, has with his new Grand Salon, Canada's Palm Court Orchestra, focused on a fabulous niche: that of timeless salon concert music.

The first half of the concert featured selections from European composers such as Strauss and Suppe. How phenomenal Suppe's somewhat hackneyed 'Light Calvary Overture' sounds when performed by talented artists.

The second half covered popular works by American composers such as Cole Porter, George Gershwin and Irving Berlin. Each selection was performed with style and ardour by artists obviously enjoying themselves while attired in formal tails and exquisite gowns. Kerry's ability to enlighten us in his humorous style is always a delight.

To those unfortunate enough to have missed this first matinee, either because you were still in Florida or because of unawareness, you missed a fantastic occasion. We hope the Festival will continue this matinee style and will program as early return engagement of Kerry Stratton's Palm Court Orchestra and its super repertoire.

We wish Kerry all the best in recapturing what was an era with most memorable music.

Still humming those melodies.
